Johnathon~Our Shining Star In Heaven

I know that many people, especially my friends and family, must wonder why I felt it necessary to create a web-site for my son. The answer to that question is quite simple. Prior to Johnathons ascent into heaven, I had very little experience with the internet. Actually, we didn't even purchase a computer until 4 months after his tragic accident. Once we were on-line, one of the first things I did was to seek out other bereaved parents. I began this search by typing in keywords. I was in awe to find that numerous bereaved parents had actually created web-sites for their angels! For several months I spent hours viewing all the memorial sites for children that I could find. These web-sites brought on alot of tears, but they also gave me a great deal of comfort. I would never ever wish this kind of pain on anybody, however, the fact remains that there are many many parents who are dealt this gut-wrenching blow atleast once in their lifetime. Many grieving parents find that it helps to ease the pain somewhat, by being able to contact others who truly understand what they are going through. The web-sites created for those children who went to Heaven prior to Johnathon helped me so much. These angels guided me to their parents who have been my life-line...my sanity. Because of this, I decided that I too wanted to be available to help others who are also grieving a child. By creating a memorial web-site for my own child...for our "Our Shining Star In Heaven"...for our Johnathon, it is my hope that that I can be of support to not only those parents who will find themselves labeled "bereaved parent" in the future, but also to those who have been living this nightmare before me. It is my hope that, while Johnathons web-site may make you cry, that it may also bring a smile to your face and maybe even make you laugh at times.

~I'm An Angel Now~

One night I cried to Jesus as I sat beneath a tree
I looked into the open sky and hoped He'd answer me...
I'm lost dear Lord, I've traveled far, but still I seem to roam
Please light the way and lead me Lord, I need to get back home...
I told Him of my burdens, and of the sadness in my heart
That from His gracious love, I'd never felt so far apart...
Why did you take my child Lord? I cannot understand!
No longer can I touch his face, or hold his tiny hand...
I'm angry Lord, I'm missing him, I'm drowning in my sorrow
Please help to heal my yesterday and face each new tomorrow...
It was then I heard his gentle voice and felt his presence near
How I wanted so to hold him as I cried another tear...
He said "Mommy, I'm an angel now my spirit will be free
I'm an angel now in Heaven, so please don't cry for me
I was chosen by our Lord above and now I'm in His care
When you need me, look inside your heart, I promise to be there
No one can ever take away our bond with one another
For I'll always be your precious child, as you will be my mother
So if you cannot find your way, or the road to home seems far
Just look up to the Heavens...and Ill be your guiding star!"
He said "Mommy, I'm an angel now My spirit will be free
I'm an angel now in Heaven, no need to cry for me..."

My mom is a survivor, or so I've heard it said...
But I can hear her crying at night, when all others are in bed.

I watch her lay awake at night, and go to hold her hand...
She does not know I'm with her, to help her understand.

But like the sands on the beach, that never wash away...
I watch over my surviving mom, who thinks of me each ay.

She wears a smile for others...a smile of disguise!
But through Heaven's door I see...tears flowing from her eyes.

My mom tries to cope with death, to keep my memory alive...
But anyone who truly knows her, knows it is her way to survive.

As I watch over my surviving mom, through Heaven's open door...
I try to tell her that angels protect me forevermore.

I know that does not help her, or ease the burden that she bears...
So if you get a chance, go visit her...and show her that you care.

For no matter was she says..no matter what she feels...
My surviving mom has a broken heart, that time will never heal.
